Effects of polymer micelles of alkylated polyethylenimines on generation of gold nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Mono-and di-alkylated polyethylenimines (PEI-1R, PEI-2R) are synthesized and used as reductants, by exploiting the functionality of the polyethylenimine's (PEI) amino groups, and as stabilizers able to protect nascent gold nanoparticles generated from hydrogen tetrachloroaurate (HAuCl4). The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images of the stained polymers clarify that the polymer micelles are round and well-structured when formed from PEI-2R, fused.

Orbital alignment and morphology of pentacene deposited on Au(111) and SnS2 studied using photoemission spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Photoemission spectroscopy is used in the studying of pentacene deposited on Au(111) and SnS2. The results obtained indicate differences in the orientation of the pentacene molecules on the two substrates based on the analysis of the ultraviolet photoemission (UP) spectra, scanning tunneling microscopy results of their films, and atomic force microcopy images of thick pentacene layers.

Spectroscopic study of laser-induced phase transition of gold nanoparticles on nanosecond time scales and longer

Article Abstract:

The pulsed laser induced phase transition of gold nanoparticles in aqueous solution was observed via a transient absorption at two different wavelengths. Fluences below 6.3mJ cm(super -2) resulted in no change in the transient absorption while fluences between 6.3 and 17mJ cm(super -2) produced a bleach signal attributed to the melting of gold nanoparticles.
