Excited-state dynamics of spiropyran-derived merocyanine isomers

Article Abstract:

A study on merocyanine (MC) isomers that are formed after absorption of a UV photon by 1',3'-dihydro-1',3'-3'-trimethyl-6-nitrospiro[2H-1-benzopyran-2',2'-(2H)-indole] was conducted. The study revealed that the excitation of the MC at 490 nm led to more-complex excited-state relaxation and included the formation of two isomers, TTC and CTC or CTT ('T' and 'C' indicate trans and cis conformations of the C-C bonds in the methine bridge).

Cluster structures of supercritical CH4 confined in carbon nanospaces with in situ high-pressure small-angle X-ray scattering and grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation

Article Abstract:

Cluster structures of supercritical methane adsorbed in micropores of activated carbon fibres (ACFs) with in situ high-pressure SAXS and GCMC simulation are presented. Thus, a combination analysis of in situ high-pressure SAXS and GCMC simulation can elucidate the cluster structures of supercritical CH4 confined in carbon micropores.

Exciton effects in the dimer and higher aggregates of a simple merocyanine dye. A CS INDO CI based theoretical study

Article Abstract:

The optical properties in organized assemblies of merocyanine dyes with a simple streptomerocyanine with five methine carbons (Mc) is investigated theoretically. The approximations used to calculate the excitonic matrix as well as to the effects of changing from CIPSI to simple SCI schemes are used for discussing the results.
