Extracting the time scales of conformational dynamics from single-molecule single-photon fluorescence statistics

Article Abstract:

The decay of fluorescence lifetime can be correlated to the structure of the macromolecule to which the fluorophore is attached. The autocorrelation function of delay time between the excitation and emission of a single photon is proportional to the autocorrealtion function of the square of the fluorescence lifetime.

A computational study of the correlations between structure and dynamics in free and surface-immobilized single polymer chains

Article Abstract:

The correlations between structure and dynamics in free and surface-immobilized polymers were investigated with the use of Langevin dynamics simulations of a free-jointed homopolymer. A detailed analysis was performed for a polymer in free solution and a polymer attached to a surface.

Computational study of a single surface-immobilized two-stranded coiled-coil polypeptide

Article Abstract:

A well-defined helical dimer native state of a two-stranded coiled-coil polypeptide is obtained by applying an off-lattice model. The effect of surface-immobilization of the polypeptide is analyzed for different surfaces and denaturation conditions.
