Flashy silver nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

It was observed that silver colloids exhibit blinking, independent of the nature of the adsorbate in the presence or absence of surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). It is believed that further research of the relationship between optical behavior and SERS and the continuum will lead to better understanding of the entire process.

Color micropatterning with reconfigurable stamps

Article Abstract:

A two-phase, reaction-diffusion (RD) system in which printing stamps of the same geometries produce different micropatterns when applied to different surfaces is described. The system shows a bimodal behavior, which can be controlled precisely by the dimensions of the system.

From self-affine to logarithmic: interfacial fluctuation of a stearic acid film upon swelling in water

Article Abstract:

The interfacial structures of a solution-cast variable acid film, before and after immersion in water were studied by X-ray scattering combined with atomic force microscopy. It is shown that the interfaces of the as-deposited film are self-affine.
