Front dynamics during diffusion-limited corrosion of ramified electrodeposits

Article Abstract:

The diffusion-limited corrosion of porous copper clusters in thin gap cells containing cupric chloride were subjected to experimentation. The process was well-described by one-dimensional mean-field model for the generic reaction A + B(static)->C(inert) with only one diffusing reactant and one static reactant reacting to produce an inert product. This was obtained by careful comparison of corrosion front velocities and concentration profiles from phase-shift interferometry with theoretical predictions.

Assessing induced folding of an intrinsically disordered protein by site-directed spin-labeling electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The induced folding of the intrinsically disordered C-terminal domain of measles virus nucleoprotein is studied using site-directed spin-labeling electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. The results highlight the suitability of site-directed spin-labeling EPR spectroscopy to identify protein regions involved in binding and folding events, while providing insights at the residue level.

Effects of slow substrate binding and release in redox enzymes: Theory and application to periplasmic nitrate reductase

Article Abstract:

The thermodynamics and kinetics of substrate binding which affects the position and shape of a catalytic voltammogram in the most general case where substrate could bind to and be released from any redox state of the active site is demonstrated.
