Thermodynamic scaling of diffusion in supercooled Lennard-Jones liquids

Article Abstract:

The studies of thermodynamic scaling in supercooled molecular liquids and polymers which demonstrate the diffusion coefficient in supercooled Lennard-Jones m-6 mixtures is reported. The finding suggest that the magnitude of scaling exponent [gamma], a material specific constant is related to the steepness of the repulsive part of intermolecular potential u(r).

Thermodynamics in phase transitions in a fluid confined by a harmonic trap

Article Abstract:

A fluid of interacting atoms confined by a three-dimensional anisotropic harmonic potential like those produced by the magnetic traps used to confine cold atoms are described. The emergence of novel liquid, vapor and solid-like phases in a classical fluid is shown with the aid of molecular dynamics simulations.

Critical endpoint and analytical phase diagram of attractive hard-core Yukawa spheres

Article Abstract:

The gas-liquid critical endpoint (cep) for hard spheres with a Yukawa attraction is analytically calculated. The liquid region does not span more than 0.6 kT in strength, and there is also relatively narrow window for the attraction range.
