In situ stark effects with inverted bipolar peaks for adsorbed CO on Pt electrodes in 50 degree C direct methanol fuel cells

Article Abstract:

Adsorbed CO stark tuning rates are studied for the first time in direct methanol fuel cells on Pt black catalysts supported only on the polymer electrolyte (Nafion) in membrane electrode assemblies. The vibrational stark tuning data suggests that CO oxidation occurs on the perimeter of CO(sub ads) islands, which is consistent with the formation of CO within and above Pt double layer potentials.

Study of the corrosion behavior of electroplated iron-zinc alloys using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted on the corrosive nature of iron-zinc alloys which are electroplated on mild steel, in aerated and deaerated quadrupuly distilled water using valence band x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Results indicate that the 17% iron alloy forms a protective zinc oxide surface.
