Electroluminescence of the dye-sensitized solar cell

Article Abstract:

The electroluminescence (EL) of dye-sensitized solar cells have been measured for the first time. The transitions in the dye responsible for the emission and absorption of light have also been investigated. The EL was obtained by applying a forward bias to solar cell. The emitted radiation was passed through a 1/4m Yobin-Yvon monochromator with a grating blazed at 600 nm. A calibrated, liquid-N2-cooled Ge diode was used as a detector and the signal was monitored by a current-voltage converter and a lock-in amplifier.
