Influence of the percolation network geometry on electron transport in dye-sensitized titanium dioxide solar cells

Article Abstract:

The first clear evidence that the network geometry strongly influences the electron transport dynamics in mesoporous nanoparticle TiO2 films is described, and it is shown that percolation theory accounts very well for the results. The electron diffusion pathway through the network distribution was correlated with the film porosity and the interparticle coordination numbers.

Nanocrystalline TiO(sub 2)/ZnO thin films: Fabrication and application to dye-sensitized solar cells

Article Abstract:

Nanocrystalline TiO(sub 2)/ZnO thin film electrodes for dye-sensitized solar cells were fabricated using chemical bath deposition technique and the layer-by-layer (LbL) method onto an indium-doped tin oxide (ITO) substrate. The as-deposited TiO(sub 2)/ZnO electrode was found to be stable for a period of 25 min and had a device power conversion effciency of 0.67%.

Explaining the enhanced photocatalytic activity of degussa P25 mixed-phase TiO2 using EPR

Article Abstract:

The charge separation characteristics of a high-activity, mixed-phase titania photocatalyst (Degussa P25) are probed by Electron Paramagnetic Spectroscopy (EPR). The results suggest that within mixed-phase titania (P25) there is a morphology of nanoclusters containing atypically small rutile crystallites interwoven with antase crystallites.
