Interaction between myoglobin and hyaluronic acid in their layer-by-layer assembly: Quartz crystal microbalance and cyclic voltammetry studies

Article Abstract:

The interaction between myoglobin (Mb) and hyaluronic acid (HA) in their layer-by-layer assembly and the influencing factors for Mb adsorption on HA surface, such as pH, Mb concentration, and ionic strength, are investigated. The ultraviolet (UV)-vis and infrared (IR) spectroscopies of [{Mb/HA}.sub.n] films, combined with the comparative cyclic voltammetry (CV) experiments of [{Mb/HA}.sub.n] and [{catalase/HA}.sub.n] films, have indicated that Mb in the [{Mb/HA}.sub.n] multilayer films retains its near-native structure.

Enhanced sensitivity for biosensors: Multiple functions of DNA-wrapped single-walled carbon nanotubes in self-doped polyaniline nanocomposites

Article Abstract:

The nanocomposite of self-doped polyaniline, poly(anilineboronic acid), with ss-DNA-wrapped single-walled carbon nanotubes (ss-DNA/SWNTs) is fabricated on a gold electrode by in situ electrochemical polymerization of 3-aminophenylboronic acid monomers in the presence of ssDNA/SWNTs. The large surface area of carbon nanotubes has largely increased the density of the functional groups available for sensitive detection of the target analyte.
