Lithium environment in dilute poly(ethylene oxide)/lithium triflate polymer electrolyte from REDOR NMR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The crystalline microdomains of a poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-lithium triflate sample with an oxygen/lithium ratio of 20:1 is characterized using solid-state NMR data collected with the rotational-echo double-resonance (super 13)C{(super 7)Li} (REDOR) pulse sequence. The results have shown that the lithium crystalline microdomains are nearly identical to those of a completely crystalline 3:1 sample, for which the crystal structure is known.

Segment distribution of the micellar brushes of poly(ethylene oxide) via small-angle neutron scattering

Article Abstract:

Coronal structures of the micelles spontaneously formed in water by poly(ethylene oxide)-b-polybutadiene (PEO-PB) were investigated using small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). The results are consistent with the view that the PEO segments, despite favorable interactions with water molecules, are significantly accumulated near the hydrophobic interface, possibly due to the effect of the strong incompatibility of PB and water.

Comparison of original and cross-linked wormlike micelles of poly(ethylene oxide-b-butadiene) in water: Rheological properties and effects of poly(ethylene oxide) addition

Article Abstract:

The consequences of the depletion effects on a homologous pair of pristine and cross-linked wormlike micelles immersed in a suspension of nonadsorbing poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO) are compared. The phase separation behavior of the mixtures of the non-cross-linked wormlike micelles and homo-PEO in the water-rich limit is investigated by combined experiments of optical turbidity and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS).
