Mechanisms of two electrochemical oscillations of different types, observed for H2O2 reduction on a Pt electrode in the presence of a small amount of halide ions

Article Abstract:

The mechanisms of oscillations C and D are studied in detail using impedance analyses and in-situ light reflectance measurements as well as mathematical simulations. The study concluded from the experiments and mathematical simulation that both oscillations C and D are classified into hidden negative differential resistance (HNDR) oscillators.

Water- and oxygen-induced decay kinetics of photogenerated electrons in TiO2 and Pt/TiO2: a time-resolved infrared absorption study

Article Abstract:

The electron decay is traced in TiO2 and Pt/TiO2 exposed to O2 and H2O atmosphere to examine the reactivity of the electrons in photochemical reactions. It is concluded that when Pt/TiO2 was exposed to water, the oxidation and reduction steps of the water splitting reaction affected the electron decay kinetics.

Thermodynamic consistency in microkinetic development of surface reaction mechanisms

Article Abstract:

Thermodynamic constraints of reaction networks are reviewed and expressions applicable to surface reactions are derived. Various optimization approaches to ensure thermodynamic consistency are discussed and demonstrated with a specific example of surface reaction mechanism of H2 oxidation on Pt.
