Morphological characteristics of 1,3:2,4-dibenzylidene sorbitol/Poly(propylene glycol) organogels

Article Abstract:

Polarized light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry and spectrophotometry are used for examining the morphological characteristics of organogels that are composed of 1,3:2,4-dibenzylidene sorbitol (DBS) and poly(propylene glycol) (PPG), as functions of DBS concentration, PPG molecular weight and temperature. The results of the examination are presented.

Changes of the primary and secondary relaxation of sorbitol in mixtures with glycerol

Article Abstract:

The dielectric relaxation experimental data on the alpha and Johari-Goldstein beta-relaxation dynamics of sorbitol in the neat state and in mixtures with glycerol published by Duvvuri and Richert is described. Fair agreements are found between the predictions of the model and data of neat sorbitol and mixtures of orbital with glycerol.

Length scale of dynamic heterogeneity in supercooled D-sorbitol: comparison to model predictions

Article Abstract:

A multidimensional (super 13)C solid state NMR experiment is performed to study the direct measurement of the length scale of dynamic heterogeneity in supercooled D-sorbital. The results show that the growth of this length scale is linked to the slowing of dynamics as the glass transition is approached.
