Nanowire-based molecular monolayer junctions: synthesis, assembly, and electrical characterization

Article Abstract:

The synthesis and electrical transport properties of 30-nm diameter in-wire metal-self-assembled monolayers (SAMs)-metal junctions that incorporate three different molecules: saturated alkane chains of dodecane (C12), pi-conjugated oligo (phenylene ethynylene) (OPE), and oligo (phenylene vinylene) (OPV) in dithiolacetates and three different metal contacts: Au-SAM-Pd, Au-SAM-Ag, and Pd-SAM-Pd is reported.

Self-assembly at the liquid/solid interface: STM reveals

Article Abstract:

Monolayer formation and their properties at the organic liquid/solid interface with a focus on structure and control of monolayer formation, reactivity, and spectroscopy are studied. The liquid/solid interface provides an ideal environment to investigate self-assembly phenomena, and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).

Special technique for growing Tl4S3, anisotropy of electrical conduction and photophysical properties

Article Abstract:

A special local technique is employed to prepare single crystals of thallium Tl4S3. The preparation process, electrical and photophysical properties are elucidated for the obtained crystals. The results of the photoconductivity study showed that the recombination process in Tl4S3 single crystals is monomolecular.
