Orientation and bonding of 4,4'- biphenyldiisocyanide

Article Abstract:

The polarization dependent photoemission and inverse photoemission are used to examine the orientation and bonding of 4,4'-biphenyldiisocyanide (BPDI) adsorbed by solution on Au(111). The electronic structure of isocyano-functionalized polyphenyls indicates that they are better dielectrics than thiol-functionalized polyphenyls.

Synthesis and characterization of an extremely versatile structural motif called the "plum pudding" gel

Article Abstract:

A complete gel structure composed of responsive microgel particles randomly dispersed in a bulk gel medium known as 'plum-pudding gel' is discussed. The diversity of the gel structure as a structural motif is illustrated.
