Physico-chemical investigation of the state of cyanamide confined in AOT and lecithin reversed micelles

Article Abstract:

Sodium bis (2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT) and lecithin reversed micelles containing cyanamide have been investigated by small-single X-ray scattering, FT-IR, and 1H NMR spectroscopy at various cyanamide-to-surfactant molar ratio (X) and at a fixed surfactant concentration. The aim is to show the possibility of preparing a stable and size-controlled molecular aggregates containing cyanamide by its solubilization in AOT/CCI4 and lecithin/CCI4 micellar systems.

Atomistic origin of germanate anomaly in Ge[O.sub.2] and Na-germanate glasses: Insights from two-dimensional [.sup.17.O] NMR and quantum chemical calculations

Article Abstract:

The [.sup.17.O] two-dimensional NMR spectra for Ga[O.sub.2] and Na-germanate glasses and the results of quantum chemical calculations of [.sup.17.O] isotropic chemical shift of oxygen clusters ([.sup.17.O] [delta. sub.iso]) that provide improved prospects for the atomistic origins of germanate anomaly are reported. The densification mechanisms in germanate glasses with Na are similar to densification in v-[B.sub.2][O.sub.3] with pressure.
