Positive and negative contrast lithography on silver quantum dot monolayers

Article Abstract:

The monolayers of alkylthiol-passivated silver nanocrystals are studied using a scanning nonlinear optical microscope. Two optical responses were observed which led to negative and positive contrast optical lithography. For small nanocrystalls less than 4 nm in diameter, a strong coupling of electronic excitation to translational motion is observed. On the other hand, larger particles ionized through a high order multiphoton process.

Elucidation of the structures of nitric oxide and nitrous acid at Pt(111) electrodes by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy in 0.1 M HC1O4

Article Abstract:

In situ scanning tunneling microscopy experiments have been undertaken to investigate the real-space structure and bonding configuration of nitric oxide at Pt(111). It was possible to assess the impact of potential on the chemical nature and real-space arrangements of the adsorbate to be evaluated.
