Preparation, characterization, and performance of Fe-ZSM-5 catalysts

Article Abstract:

Various spectroscopic methods were used to characterize several iron-ZSM-5 catalysts that have been prepared. The exchange of iron into the zeolite ZSM-5 was found to result to the formation of both isolated iron atoms and iron-oxo nanoclusters with an average composition of Fe4O4 and a very short iron-iron interatomic distance. The distribution of species varies with the preparation method and the nature of the pretreatment. All iron species can undergo reversible conversion between Fe(II) and Fe(III). However, reduction to the metallic state does not occur below 1250 K in the presence of hydrogen.

Characteristics of carbon filament formation from the interaction of cobalt-tin particles with ethylene

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the influence of adding tin to a cobalt catalyst using the decomposition of ethylene at 600 degrees C to establish solid carbon, methane and ethane as a probe reaction. The tin-cobalt powder supported variations in composition. Carbon deposition studies were performed at 600 degrees C using a quartz reactor tube. Results indicated that the introduction of tin into cobalt significantly affected the catalytic activity of the ferromagnetic metal.

Characterization of niobia-supported palladium-cobalt catalysts

Article Abstract:

Research into the characterization of Pd-Co catalysts supported on niobium oxide is presented. A model presented by bimetallic particles enriched with palladium and particles containing only cobalt is proposed.
