Probing the diffusion of a dilute dye solution in mesoporous glass with fluorescence correlation spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The translation motion of rhodamine 6g dye molecules near the surface of a mesoporous glass with a disordered pore structure and a nominal pore diameter of 130 angstrom is computed by the use of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) to fluorescent burst data as dye molecules diffuse through the laser excitation volume. The motion of the rhodamine 6g molecules in the mesoporous glass is observed to deviate from simple Brownian motion with a single diffusion constant.

Solvation and polarization of the n-methyl amine molecule in aqueous solution: A combined study of quantum mechanics and integral equation theory in three dimensions

Article Abstract:

A combined approach of quantum mechanics and statistical mechanical integral equation theory in three dimensions to describe the solute-solvent electrostatic interaction and mutual polarization in an infinitely dilute solution of a polar solute molecule in polar solvent is presented. It is shown that the mutual polarization between solute and solvent has significant effect on the thermodynamic properties.

Size distribution and intermolecular interaction of laminin-1 in physiological solutions

Article Abstract:

Dynamic light scattering (DLS) was used to study laminin-1 (LN-1) in aqueous solutions. Magnesium leads to formation of bonding or adsorption on LN-1 molecules.
