Product study of the reaction of CH3 and OH radicals at low pressures and temperatures of 300K and 612K

Article Abstract:

The product distribution for the reaction of CH3 with OH radicals at low pressures and temperatures of 300K and 612K is examined using time-of-flight mass spectrometer connected to a tubular flow reactor. The methyl and hydroxyl radicals are produced by an excimer laser pulse photolyzing acetone and nitrous oxide in the presence of excess water or hydrogen.

Hydroxyl radical in aqueous solution: Computer simulation

Article Abstract:

The structure and dynamics in hydroxyl radical-water mixture along the coexistence curve for a simple point charge extended water and in supercritical states with the density fixed at 0.3 g/cm(super 3) was examined. The results were used to study the kinetics of oxidation reactions in high-temperature water.

Kinetic isotope effect for hydrogen abstraction by .OH radicals from normal and carbon deuterated ethyl alcohol and methylamine in aqueous solutions

Article Abstract:

A series of experiments were conducted on H/D isotope effects (KIEs) concerning the reaction of .OH with simple alcohols and amines. The results state that the mechanism by which the .OH reacts with the amine seems likely to involve a transient, caged aluminum/hydroxide ion pair.
