Article Abstract:

In association with Vietnamese partners, Pronoco (a subsidiary at of the French company SCPA), has 0 expanding sector in Vietnam of which Pronoco is one of the market leaders. The company also owns a second factory in Hanoi. Bien Hoa 1 will henceforth produce concentrates, Bien Hoa 2 (equipped with a pre-mixer, two grinders, a mixer and a press) will manufacture complete foods. In 1997 Pronoco placed 450,000 tons of animal food on the Vietnamese market, and in 1998 they expect a demand of 500,000 tons. However, they actually have the capacity to produce 600,000 tons a year. Pronoco are researching further possibilities in both the Haipong and the Cantho region, with the aim of marketing 1mn tons of equivalent foodstuffs, and 5-7 mn tons of industrial foodstuffs by the year 2002.

Avecia invests more in Gold Award technology

Article Abstract:

Avecia, in its efforts to focus on buiotechnology, is increasing the capacity for protein expression technology and Gold Award recipient Paveway. The 1.4-million-euro investment includes a biologics laboratory at its Billingham, UK facility, and will increase R&D work by 20%. The features of Paveway and Avecia's processes are discussed.
