Self-assembled hybrid bilayers of palladium alkanethiolates

Article Abstract:

The structure of palladium thiolate containing two different alkane chains based on powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) is reported. The use of Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) measurements shows that crystalline mesostructures ascribable to hybrid bilayers are formed with no phase separation into individual thiolates.

Deposition of a metal-organic heterostructure to form magnetic-nonmagnetic bilayer films

Article Abstract:

A simple growth technique for preparation of metal-organic bilayer films consisting magnetic Gd and nonmagnetic Au metalic layers is presented. The bilayer films are an essentially nanostructured network of islands and interconnects that exhibit nonohmic I-V characteristics when measured laterally across the film using a conducting AFM tip.

An investigation of two-dimensional arrays of thiolized Pd nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

Two-dimensional arrays of Pd nanocrystals of varying diameters (1.8-6.0nm) are obtained after thiolization with alkane thiols of different chain lengths (C4-C16). The stability and structure of these arrays is explained in terms of the ratio of the particle diameter (d) and the alkane chain length (l).
