Structural study of electrochemically deposited Cu on p-GaAs(100) in H(sub-2)SO(sub-4) solution by in Situ surface-sensitive x-ray absorption fine structure measurements

Article Abstract:

The local structures of electrochemically deposited Cu on p-GaAs(100) of various coverages in 0.1 M H(sub-2)SO(sub-4) solution containing 0.1 mM CuSO(sub-4) have been investigated by in situ surface-sensitive x-ray absorption fine structure. Extended x-ray absorption fine structure data showed that Cu nanoclusters with a short Cu-Cu distance such as dimers, trimers and/or tetramers are formed on the p-GaAs surface at the initial stage.

Size-dependent carrier dynamics in CdS nanoparticles by femtosecond visible-pump/IR-probe measurements

Article Abstract:

Ultrafast photoexcited carrier dynamics in CdS nanoparticles prepared by an AOT/n-heptane reversed micelle system are investigated by a femtosecond visible-pump/mid-infrared (IR) probe technique. The results reveal that the photoexcited free electron lifetime monotonically increases as the size decreases, which indicates that the surface trap state is deactivated by the thiol-cap.

Electrochemical assembly and potential-dependent plasmon absorption of Au nanoclusters covered with a 4-Aminothiophenol self-assembled monolayer

Article Abstract:

Gold nanoclusters covered with 4-aminothiophenol (4-ATP) Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) were electrochemically assembled on an Au or ITO electrode. The intensity of plasmon absorption of the gold nanocluster assembly was shown to be dependent on applied potential as a result of electrochemical doping/undoping of a counteranion in the polyaniline film.
