Study of disorder in different phases of tetratriacetone and a binary alkane mixture, using vibrational spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Raman vibrational spectroscopy is employed to examine the monoclinic crystal-rotator-melt phase transitions in tetratriacetone and a binary alkane mixture, as they exhibit several changes in their band intensity and frequency in different phases. The analysis reveals that though the low concentration of methyl groups does not prove the transition of phases satisfactorily, the various bending and rocking regions, in addition to the behavior of the bands displays the differences effectively.

Mechanistic differences between electrochemical and gas-phase thermal oxidation of platinum-group transition metals as discerned by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that oxides of the five platinum group metals, produced by electrochemical or gaseous systems, exhibited similar chemical characteristics but showed spectral differences.
