Temperature- and pH-dependent morphology and FT-IR analysis of magnesium carbonate hydrates

Article Abstract:

The synthesis and vibrational spectra of various morphologies of magnesium carbonate hydrates prepared at different reaction temperatures and pH values are studied by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The FT-IR spectra have shown that these various morphologies of MgC[O.sub.3] are closely related to their compositions.

Hydrogen bonding of polystyrene latex nanospheres to sidewall carbon nanotubes

Article Abstract:

Carbon nanotubes and monodispersed nanoparticles are two most important building blocks proposed to create nanodevices. Hydrogen bonding between open-tip and sidewall carbon nantotubes and polystyrene nanoparticles, produced at a pH adequate to create the same bond between natural system and interesting nanoforms is presented.

Modeling of pH-switchable ion transport and selectively in nanopore membranes with fixed charges

Article Abstract:

The pH-switchable ion transport and selectivity in nanopore membranes with fixed charges is theoretically studied using a model based on the Nernst-Planck flux equations. Characteristics that allow a simple description of pH-switchable effects on nanopore membranes with fixed charges are observed.
