Volume changes correlate with enthalpy changes during the photoinduced formation of the 3MLCT state of ruthenium(II) bipyridine cyano complexes in the presence of salts. A case of the entropy-enthalpy compensation effect

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to characterize the total structure volume and enthalpy changes related to the formation of the triplet metal-to-ligand charge transfer state in ruthenium(II) bipyridine cyano complexes. Laser-induced optoacoustic spectroscopy was carried out to analyze the complexes. Experimental results indicated that photoinduced structural volume changes correlate with changes in the structural entropy influenced by the addition of salt.

Characterization of the cyclodextrin-surfactant interactions by volume and enthalpy

Article Abstract:

Thermodynamic experiments on some water/surfactant/cyclodextrin ternary systems are done in both the pre- and postmicellar regions and analyzed based on a model. The model provides insight on the binding processes provided when the parameters generated by the model for the various systems are compared among themselves and others.
