The importance of nanoscopic ordering on the kinetics of photoinduced charge transfer in aggregated pi-conjugated hydrogen-bonded donor: Acceptor systems

Article Abstract:

Aggregated complexes of diaminotriazine oligo(p-phenylene vinylene) (OPV) units hydrogen bonded to different complementary perylene bisimide (PERY) compounds are investigated by using absorption, circular dichroism, photoluminescence and photoinduced absorption spectroscopy. The results have shown that in the aggregated state an ultrafast photoinduced charge separation occurs through an intermolecular pathway in the J-type stack of hydrogen-bonded OPV-PERY arrays rather than intramolecular through the hydrogen-bonded pairs.

Circular differentiation scattering of light in films of chiral polyfluorene

Article Abstract:

The investigation of the circular differential transmission in thick films of poly{9.9-bis[(3S)-3,7-dimethyloctyl}-2,7-fluorene} is presented. A specifically designed chiroptical setup is used to show that the circular selective reflection of light, in which the circular polarization of the light is retained after reflection, makes a negligible contribution to the differential transmission.

Dispersive relaxation dynamics of photoexcitations in a polyfluorene film involving energy transfer: Experiment and Monte Carlo simulations

Article Abstract:

Time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy is used to investigate relaxation of electronic excitations in films of pi-conjugated polymer in the ps time domain. The position of the fluorescence band and its width are measured and it is found that the fluorescence band shows a continuous red shift with time.
