Thermodynamic and transport properties of polyhedral oligomeric sislesquioxanes in poly(dimethylsiloxane)

Article Abstract:

Molecular-simulation results for POSS-POSS radial distribution functions (where POSS=polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane), potentials of mean force, and self-diffusion coefficients for POSS monomers dissolved in poly(dimethylsiloxane) are presented. Results demonstrate that it is possible to modulate the effective POSS-POSS interaction by increasing the temperature or by substituting by hydrogen atoms in the POSS monomer with methyl groups.

Self-aggregation of alkyl [C(sub 10-), C(sub 12-), C(sub 14-), and C(sub 16-) triphenyl phosphonium bromides and their 1:1 molar Mixtures in aqueous medium: A thermodynamic study

Article Abstract:

Investigation of the self-aggregation behavior of decyl, dodecyl, tetradecyl, and hexadecyl triphenyl phosphonium bromides and the thermodynamics of the process essentially by the method of isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) with a supportive method of conductometry is presented. Two kinds of self-aggregation in two different concentration regions for ATPBs by ITC and conductometry warrants corroboration and quantification are observed.

Prenematic behavior of the electric-field-induced increment of the basic thermodynamic quantities of isotropic mesogenic liquids of different polarity

Article Abstract:

The thermodynamic effects induced by an external electric field in the isotropic polar mesogenic liquids composed of the molecules of different polarity are evaluated. The role of the molecular polarity in the dielectric behavior of the liquids in the vicinity of the isotropic to nematic phase transition is discussed.
