UKRAINE: MARKET FOR POWDER COATINGS

Article Abstract:

Demand for powder coatings in Ukraine has increased at an annual rate of 10% to 15% in the past two years. The only domestic producer, JSC Nord has a monthly output of about 45 tonnes, which covers 60% of the market. Of the total output, the company uses 40 tonnes itself, while the rest is sold on the Ukrainian market. Metallic-Avial in Dnepropetrovsk is planning to set up a production plant for powder coatings for US$ 2mn. Imports are estimated at 30 tonnes per month. Oxyplast is the leading foreign supplier, with a market share of 15%, while Pulver holds 13% of the market. About 75% of Ukraine's powder coatings consumption is accounted for by producers of domestic appliances. The construction sector uses another 12.5%, industries 8.4% and automotive spare parts 2.6%. Four new large-scale plants for powder coating are being built in the Ukraine. Nine of the currently 65 powder coating facilities are not operating.

This article looks exciting, and I am sure there will be more interests in the details, Ykraine will be a big market, and The construction sector uses another 12.5%, industries 8.4% and automotive spare parts 2.6%. Four new large-scale plants for powder coating are being built in the Ukraine. Nine of the currently 65 powder coating facilities are not operating.

POLAND: COATINGS MARKET IN 1998

Article Abstract:

The consumption of paints and varnishes in Poland in 1998 is estimated at 330,000 tonnes, up 12.6% from 1997. Polifarb Cieszyn-Wroclaw accounted for 25% of the market, while Nobiles and Polifarb Debica Becker each held 7% of the market, Sniezka 5% and Polifarb Pilawa 4%.
