Synthesis of oxygen- and nitrogen-containing heterocycles by ring closing metathesis

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of oxygen- and nitrogen-containing heterocycles by ring closing metathesis (RCM) is reviewed to illustrate typical examples and situations where RCM was and can be used to construct complex heterocycles. The examples illustrate that there are an increasing number of applications of RCM to the synthesis of complex and highly functionalized organic molecules of importance in natural product chemistry, chemical biology, and material science.

Synthesis of phosphorus and sulfur heterocycles via ring-closing olefin metathesis

Article Abstract:

Synthesis of phosphorus and sulfur heterocycles via ring-closing olefin metathesis (RCM) is reviewed. The study shows that with the advent of well-defined metathesis catalysts, RCM has emerged as an effective method for the synthesis of phosphorus and sulfur heterocycles.

Factors governing oxygen reduction in solid oxide fuel cell cathodes

Article Abstract:

The factors governing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) cathode performance are focused. An attempt is made to summarize the advances made in the understanding of SOFC cathodes since approximately the early 1980s, when there was a surge in worldwide SOFC research activity.
