All-in-one peripheral system saves space

Article Abstract:

Fujitsu Ltd. manufactures Image Ace IA-3000, an all-in-one peripheral system that serves as a precise and rapid sheet-feeder scanner, a portable scanner, an ink-jet printer, a color copier or a simple fax. The compact system also has a data-link feature for digital cameras and can be easily connected to a printer by cable. With the system, a user can make presentation material and original postcards by integrating the functions of a scanner and a digital camera. Retailed at $673 per unit, IA-3000 is targeted to meet annual sales of 10,000 units.

Notebook computers adopt CD-ROM drives

Toshiba Corp's DynaBook 2540S A4 and DynaBook 4050X notebook computers, which combine 56Kbps fax modems and 24X-speed CD-ROM drives, boast of a large variety of software such as the Internet Explorer 4.01. Featuring a 64MB synchronous DRAM for the main memory, the 4050X model operates on a 333MHz Mobile Intel Celeron CPU. Meanwhile, the 2540S model features a 2MB 53 ViRGE/MX 86C260 video RAM.
