Courier company takes on repairs

Article Abstract:

SonicAir, a logistics services provider, has expanded its SmartCourier program to include more repair services. Originally including only parts swapping services, the program now offers six services: parts exchange, onsite assist, technical swap out, non-technical swap out, technical repair and installation. Around one-third of the company's 1,500-people field force have joined the SmartCourier program, said Paul Gettings, executive VP of sales and marketing.

DecisionOne on road to recovery?

Article Abstract:

Multivendor service provider DecisionOne Corp has launched a Web-based service management tool and Linux services as part of its services restructuring program launched in early 1999. The Internet-based tool will enable DecisionOne customers to access the company's system and determine the break/status of their accounts, monitor their networks and track assets. DecisionOne has introduced also its Linux services, which is targetted for large OEM clients.

UPS expansion gives Louisville flair for repair

Article Abstract:

United Parcel Service's (UPS) hub facilities in Louisville, KY, is undergoing major expansion and improvements. UPS Logistics Group Technology and Logistics Center will have a six-building depot aimed at adding to its logistics services to include repair services. The expanded facilities reflect the growing link between logistics services and information technology hardware maintenance.
