Forbears for several ages

Article Abstract:

Colin Renfrew is an archaeologist from cambridge University, England, who has persuaded a busnessman, Daniel McDonald to endow the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research. Renfrew has also written an informative and clear textbook on the subject, which aims for clarity and originality in each chapter. There are more than 100 special features in box format tackling major topics. This is the most complete and useable textbook for archaeology world wide. Thames and Hudson, the publishers, suggested his co-author, Paul Bahn, and archaeology editor, Colin Ridler, helped formulate the project, and, according to Renfrew, held it together during its five year gestation.
