Techs today, leaders tomorrow for IT support

Article Abstract:

Technology Training Solutions is offering a training program for information technology support personnel that will teach them all about Windows NT and networks, how to run a meeting and how to communicate with colleagues and superiors. Stuart Levine, author of 'The Leader in You,' and founder of Stuart Levin Assoc, has been designated as resource person for the course. Levine says that his primary aim is to teach participants the fundamentals of good communication in their business relationships.

Industry leaders adopting support standards

Article Abstract:

Customer Support Consortium (CSC), an alliance of over 70 technology organizations, promises to deliver a uniform standard for support centers to record and exchange problems and incidents with Solution Exchange Standard (SES). Released in Jul 1997, SES is a structure and vocabulary for recording incidents. Among the technology organizations that signed on to implement SES in their help-desk support system include Microsoft Corp and Hewlett-Packard Co.

Industry leaders adopting support standards

Article Abstract:

Hewlett-Packard Co and Microsoft Corp are leading a consortium called Customer Support Consortium that aims to develop a standard for sharing incident information between support centers. The Solution Exchange Standard (SES) is expected to reduce the time and the cost of problem solving for both internal and external help desks. SES, from this perspective, is basically a set of vocabulary to be used in recording incidents.
