Projector endeavor illuminates CGS's global aspirations in presentation market

Article Abstract:

CGS International Inc of Taipei, Taiwan, hopes to become a world player in the LCD projector market with the introduction of its CX-750 multimedia projector in 1999. The company, a provider of network software and hardware products, hopes to be able to market 500 of its LCD projector in Taiwan and sell another 1,500 to foreign destinations in 1999. The CX-750, which runs on true XGA mode, has a 150W UHE lamp that provides a brightness of 750 ANSI lumens.

Noritake's chip-in-glass technology multiplies uses for VFDs showing complex images

Article Abstract:

Noritake Company Ltd has developed a new vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) with chip-in-glass technology that can accomodate more complex graphics. The VFD is equipped with a rib-grid system that strengthens the mesh and enhances design flexibility. Photolithography or thick-film printing is used in coating the phosphor layer. When electrons strike the anode during the application of positive voltage, individual phosphors emit light.
