Market Expands for Phones That Are More Versatile

Article Abstract:

There is an increase in demand for telecommunications equipment. It is expected that the electronic key telephone will become an important part of office automation systems. There has been an increase in production of electronic systems by an approximate 34.9 per cent. This increase is attributed to a growing export and domestic demand. The focus is upon business telex systems, PBX and Centrex-like systems and extension telephones. A list of electronic telephone manufacturers appears in the article. A chart indicates the sales outlook for electronic key telephones.

The EXD 10 is an electronic typewriter from Silver-Reed. It is a compact, lightweight, portable unit that contains a thermal printing system. The system provides input-output capabilities, word processing and data transmission. Interfaces are compatible with almost all personal computers. The EXD 10 is a battery- operated system.

Card-Activated Pay Phones Becoming a New Market

Article Abstract:

Card-activated pay phones are appearing in various countries. There are two types of public card systems, magnetic systems and laser systems. Both are sturdy systems. The magnetic card system is rerecordable, has a memory capacity and continuous card use. The laser card system is tamper-resistant and light in weight.
