Matsushita Communication Expanding Floppy Disk Drive Production

Article Abstract:

Matsushita Communication Industrial Company is adding an annex to its plant at Hanamaki. This annex will establish the plant as the primary production facility for floppy disk drives. The plant produces five inch minifloppy drives. The strong demand for these drives has resulted in an increase in production and sales for the company. Automated assembly lines have been used to increase production. An approximate 360,000 drives are expected to be produced each month by 1984.

Matsushita Prepares to Market Optical Disk File Systems

The Panafile 1000 is an optical file system from Matsushita Graphic Communication Systems Inc. It contains a file controller, optical disk deck, read function, high resolution printer and image display and keyboard. It provides expansion according to user needs. The Panafile operates as a stand-alone system or a part of a network. There are diagrams to illustrate the Panafile system.

Matsushita Develops Erasable-Recordable Optical Disk Storage System

Article Abstract:

An optical disk storage system, by Matsushita Electric Industrial Company, has the capability to erase and rerecord disk files. This system does not require intermediate processing. It offers instant access to recorded material and requires less storage space. This 8-inch disk can be erased and recorded more than one million times. The system will be available in about a year.
