New Electronic Devices Remove Air Pollutants and Contaminants from Buildings and Office Environments

Article Abstract:

A study conducted by Honeywell Technalysis, a research-based program sponsored by Honeywell Inc., showed that concentrations of pollutants and contaminants trapped in airtight buildings can be ten times higher than outdoors. One such pollutant, radon, is of major concern because it is a low-level radioactive substance originating in soil. Honeywell has modified ionizing air cleaning technology to reduce radon by up to seventy percent, as well as produced electronic air cleaners to combat airborne particles.

Cygnet Technologies Inc. has introduced what may be the first electronic method of obtaining a warranty. It operates through Cygnet's CoSystem, a computerphone that permits networking and the exchange out electronic mail. With the installation of CoSystem the user dials Cygnet's toll-free number and responds to a number of multiple-choice questions that appear on the video screen. The answer are delivered electronically to company headquarters, where they are compiled and stored in a special data base.
