Office Depot opens shop in Japan

Article Abstract:

Office Depot Japan Ltd. has unveiled its first retail store at the Oroshiuri Center in Tokyo, Japan. Office Depot, a US specialty store founded in 1986 that offers all types of office supplies, already operates over 600 outlets in several countries that include the US, Canada, Mexico, Poland, Israel, France, Colombia and Thailand. Office Depot Japan, which offers delivery service for orders by either phone or fax, intends to expand its operations to 50 outlets in Japan in the succeeding five years.

Performance goes up as prices come down in Japan's laser printer market

Laser printers in Japan are offering notable improvements in performance even as prices continue to tumble. Deluxe printers, such as Hewlett-Packard Japan Co's Laser Shot series and Seiko Epson's Inter-Laser LP-9600, are turning out 40ppm and come with a copier function. A4 laser printers for personal use, such as Seiko Epson's 6ppm LP-800 and Canon's 6ppm LBP-320Pro, are also gaining popularity.

Composite office machines offer enhanced functions

Article Abstract:

Fuji Xerox Company Ltd's DocuCentre series, composed of nine composite office machines, provide connection and printing capabilities through network software. All nine DocuCentre composite machines can fax, scan, copy and print in network environment. The series include three 25ppm models, three 40ppm models and three 35ppm models, with prices ranging from Y1.02 million to Y1.945 million.
