Peripherals enhance ability of Toshiba TEC's POS systems to adapt to diverse uses

Article Abstract:

Toshiba TEC Corp of Japan has launched its newest lineup of electronic cash registers (ECRs) and point-of-sale (POS) systems. The ST-5500 series of POS terminals features data protection functions and 4MB memories expandable to 24MB. The ST-90 Series with a Pentium 166MHz CPU and an 8MB standard RAM expandable to 64MB, and includes a single thermal printer. The ST-5600 Series POS terminals features high-capacity disc drive and memory, RS-232 interface, parallelo port drawer, port, POS keyboard interface and remote power control.

Toshiba TEC promotes POS business tapping talents in hardware, software

Article Abstract:

Toshiba TEC Corp has announced its strategy to sell its electronic cash equipment registers and point-of-sale equipment in the international market. The company said that it will extend services and consulting support in addition to offering reasonably priced products to boost its sales. Toshiba is also making strategic investments in North America and Mexico to boost expand its global operations.
