Hand-Held Terminals Provide Highly Portable Data-Handling

Article Abstract:

Hand-held terminals are being used for data entry by a wide range of businesses. These terminals are battery-operated units that provide a liquid crystal display, keyboard, printer and 16 to 32K memory that expands to 128K. Communication connections, temperature resistant design and data storage and protection are important factors to consider when using hand-held terminals.

NEC Introduces Portable Terminals Permitting Programming in COBOL

Article Abstract:

The N6919 Model 40 hand-held portable terminals enable a user to develop custom programs in COBOL. This provides for the quick input of data. The system consists of three different models that contain different processing capacities. There is a chart that describes the capabilities of each model.
