The Macintosh Office Features Local Area Network and Laser Printer for Work-Group Needs

Article Abstract:

Two new products from Apple Computer Inc., the AppleTalk Personal Network and the LaserWriter printer, permit communication between up to thirty-two personal computers and other peripherals within work areas of 1,000 feet. AppleTalk networks can be bridged together to form larger networks beyond thirty-two connections. The LaserWriter printer, which features a Motorola 68000 microprocessor with the AppleTalk network built in, can be shared by up to thirty-one users. A photograph of a work group is included.

Premiering High-Design Office Furniture

NEOCON, the conference on office planning and design, takes place in Chicago, from June 11 to 14, 1985. Exhibits of furnishings and seminars and workshops are featured. The seventeenth annual conference has 'Design Reflecting the Cultures of the World' for a theme. Photographs show some of the products to be exhibited.

Hamilton Sorter Co. is marketing several types of ergonomic furniture. Ergo-Arm is an adjustable VDT platform. Ergo-Top is a conversion unit for workstations. The Roll Acoustic roll- top cover reduces printer noise and the Biotec VDT operator chairs are completely adustable.
