The Market Keeps Growing for ECRs and POS Systems

Article Abstract:

The electronic cash register (ECR) market has experienced considerable growth in areas such as department stores, food supermarkets, restaurants and specialty stores. Technological advancements and lower costs have increased the demand for the Point of Sale (POS) systems. These systems are used for general business management, information management and modernization of management. System features consist of: credit systems, on-line network systems, distribution date service and customer service. These systems contribute to increased employee productivity and labor savings. Various tables are used to illustrate trends and market growth for these systems.

JCM Gold: multi-faceted ECRs streamline retail service operations: G-555

Article Abstract:

JCM Gold (HK) Ltd.'s G-555 is being touted with a capability of handling as much as 60 departments as it operates at two memory level and two price levels. The machine comes standard in tracking 11,000 price look-up codes and automatically calculates discounts and covers four groups. G-555 also has coverage of as much as 19 clerks at a time, while offering a Supervisor Level mode, a training function and log-in and log-out operations with memory for actual work times. The cash register has a two-station thermal printer with an automatic cutter and comes standard with two RS-232C serial ports that can be switched to RS-485 ports.

Demand Expanding for Low-End ECRs

Article Abstract:

Electronic cash registers (ECRs) use advanced electronic techniques to provide high performance and improved efficiency. Technological advancements in lower-priced ECRs have increased the demand for these products. These ECRs include features such as the following: printers with 45 mm receipt size, pop-up customer receipt displays, unit price displays, digit limitation, counter and single item, clock, price lookup, hour total and periodic data. A table listing low-end ECRs appears on page fifty-six of this article.
