Dealers Going with Distributor Programs

Article Abstract:

The chief role of the software distributor is to provide retailers with quick access to a wide variety of programming. Quick access enables retailers to carry a broad inventory without overstocking. Retailers also look to distributors for advice on which software packages to carry. New merchandising tools are emerging, as distributors and dealers experiment with electronic software distribution.

Dealers Looking Forward to Good Year

Article Abstract:

It is expected that 1984 will be characterized by dropping prices in the computer market. Trends will be toward educational and home utility software and training and education. There will also be a push for a standardized format for software in the American market. It is also expected that the Japanese will make a serious impression on the low-end of the product line.
