These copycats multiply: digital copier market escalates rapidly

Article Abstract:

The domestic and export-bound shipments of digital copiers in Japan both advanced during the 1st half of 1999. Shipments within Japan grew by 18.6% to 226,766 units during the period, whule exports climbed by 0.8% to 284,924 units. On the other hand, domestic shipments and exports of analog copiers both decline during the period. For all copiers, shipments within Japan grew by 1.1% while exports increased by 2.7% in the 1st half of 1999.

Panasonic expands digital composite machine line, centering on document business

Article Abstract:

Matsushita Graphics Communications Systems Ltd has launched its new product strategies and marketing policies. The company said that it is expanding its line of low-speed models and machines for small offices under the Panasonic brand. Matsushita will introduce 13, 15, 23 and 25ppm space- and energy-saving models in early 2000. It will also boost the software connectivity of slower models.
