Staples isn't just for paper anymore

IT support companies are infiltrating the market through a new channel: the office supply stores. Staples, the Westborough, MA-based office supply chain, has partnered with CompuCom Systems, a Dallas, TX-based provider of networking services. OfficeMax, Staples' Shaker Heights, OH-based competitor, has signed an agreement with IBM in which the computer giant with create a 'store-within-a-store' in OfficeMax locations.

Support teamwork helps Telemechanics in 3270 arena

Article Abstract:

Bay Shore, NY-based Telemechanics Inc has entered into an alliance with Dayton, OH-based NCR Corp to boost sales of Telemechanics line of controllers, printers and terminals for the 3270 environment. NCR's Worldwide Customer Services, on the other hand, will have an opportunity to expand its network service business. Telemechanics' lines of 3270 products was acquired from Memorex Telex Corp in early 1999.
