TelSurf offers Net access over phone

TelSurf Networks Inc will launch its toll-free service called 888-TelSurf nationwide in Apr 2000. The audio browser offers e-mail and on-demand personalized Internet content over the telephone. It also permits registered subscribers to use voice-activated commands such as 'Go to Yahoo,' 'Add to shopping cart' or 'Read new e-mail' in their content searches and e-commerce transactions across the Internet.

@home offers Dutch broadband Internet service

Article Abstract:

Internet service provider @HomeNetwork of Redwood City, has launched its broadband service in the Netherlands. The company said that its Dutch- language service features TV-quality visuals and CD-quality audio. @HomeNetwork is targeting users who are upgrading from dial-up services and first-time users. Around 130 ISPs are competing for more than 1 million online users, and an estimated 30% of the 700,000 businesses which are connected to the Internet.

Gator to expand e-shopping services

Article Abstract:

Gator.com Corp intends to increase its electronic shopping services to include a spam filter, a comparison shopping feature and other online services to its customers. Gator will enter into partnerships with other firms that provide agent technologies which identify spam and search the Web for the best prices or buying advice. There are almost 10,000 online users who sign up at the Gator site every day.
