Adforce wants to own ad-server business in China

Article Abstract:

The alliance made by Adforce with Asian online advertising network Media 999 on December 1999 is part of the firm's plan to seize the Asian ad- serving market from DoubleClick. Adforce, a firm that provides the technology that delivers banners to networks of World Wide Web sites every day, is particularly interested in gaining a dominant player status in China, given the country's thrust toward globalization of its economy.

Insight building new online store

Article Abstract:

Insight Enterprises Inc., a Tempe, AZ-based computer products direct marketer, is building a second-generation online computer store in an effort to boost electronic commerce. The online store is being developed under partnership with InterWorld Corp., a New York-based Internet commerce software company, and Cambridge Technology Partners Inc., a Cambridge, MA-based consulting and systems integration firm. Insight's new Web site will enable buyers to easily create their own product and compare different products from companies when they are deciding on a purchase. As part of the deal, InterWorld will provide Insight with its Process-Centric Computing technology, while Cambridge Technology will oversee phases of site development, testing and launching.

Microsoft denies threat to rich media firms

Article Abstract:

Microsoft Corp, software giant based in Redmond, WA, denied that a plan to provide its own rich banner code online would threaten existing rich media banner companies. The company eyes an official launch of its enRiched Ad Program in the first week of Oct 1999, with the posting of a free code in the Internet for building rich media banners. The code is compatible with MSN-branded and managed properties, including auto-buying service CarPoint and news portal MSNBC.
