Alchemy sues Cigarette after failed merger

Article Abstract:

Alchemy Holdings Inc along with Kelley Drye and Warren LLP and Exale Enterprises have sued Aventura, FL-based, boatbuilder Cigarette Racing Team Inc (CRTI) after CRTI backed out of a planned merger with Alchemy early in 2000. The plaintiffs have asked the Florida Southern Bankrupty Court to place CRTI under involuntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which would force CRTI to reorganize. They have also asked the court to appoint a trustee to investigate CRTI's business dealings.

The rest of the industry and manufacturers are confused and puzzled by Mercury's accusations as it is one of the largest importers of Japanese engines.
