Article Abstract:

Many of hospitals and other Victorian buildings which can't be used by the National Health Service (NHS) in Britain are being destroyed, even though they are very suitable for conversion projects. About 120 buildings, which include mental hospitals, former military hospitals, and specialist hospitals, could be converted into shopping centres, offices and educational buildings, as have many buildings of this type been in the past. The English Heritage and NHS Estates are investigation this matter.

Lighting conductor

Article Abstract:

Southwark station is the most intricate and interesting of the 11 designed for the Jubilee Line Extension. It is the work of architect MacCormac Jamieson Prichard, and has a number of unique features. These include a four-storey high, subterranean hall and a curved glazed wall above ground to connect to a Victorian railway viaduct. The design is particularly attractive for its use of natural daylight, which enters through a large rooflight.
